The Poodle, an agile and athletic breed, has a dense, harsh coat that is either curly or corded. They are considered to be one of the must intuitive, attentive, and intelligent breeds. Lively and playful, they have a tremendous sense of humor and a true love of life.

Trainability: The Poodle is a cheerful, super smart, sensitive and highly trainable companion dog. The breed is great at learning tricks, and a favorite in the circus ring. He is very amusing and clever. Many owners feel this dog understands speech in an uncanny way.
With Children: Standard Poodles do wonderful with children, although the puppies may be too large and rambunctious for toddlers.
Other Pets: Poodles do great with other animals.
Climate: The Poodle tolerates heat and cold fairly well.
Indoor / Outdoor: Standard Poodles need an average-sized yard with plenty of room to play.
Exercise Required: The Poodle required a medium amount of exercise and loves to swim and run.
Grooming Required: Need twice-weekly brushing and monthly bathing and trimming. Many owners keep the coat trimmed short to reduce grooming time.
