Appearance
The English Setter is a slender, powerful-looking dog. He has an elongated head with a pronounced frontal stop. The muzzle is half the length of the head and has well-developed but not pendent lips; tight-fitting jaws; and a large, wide black or near-black nose. Eyes are large and brilliant, with a sweet expression; hazel in color. Ears are hanging in fine folds. Tail is slightly curved, fringed. The hair should be flat and silky, never curled or rippled. It forms fringes on the back of the neck, legs, and buttocks.
